As a counsellor you will work in our International clinic in Hilvarenbeek where you will mainly lead group sessions, using your own life experience.

Yes We Can Youth Clinics is one of the most successful clinics for young people aged 13 to 25 with mental health issues, addictions and behavioural problems. To continue our success and realise our growth ambitions, we are looking for a:

12 steps counsellor

What you will be doing

  • Leading group sessions according to our unique treatment programme, using your own life experience;
  • Leading bonding day for the fellows and their parents/carers;
  • Monitoring the positive recovery climate in the clinic;
  • Collaborating in a multidisciplinary team of therapists, coaches and counsellors;
  • Sharing your vision, during the multidisciplinary meeting, on the progress of the fellow;
  • Carrying out interventions

Who you are

  • You have been in recovery for at least three years (completely abstinent);
  • You have completed the 12-step programme and you are still active in this programme. You can work according to this methodology, but you are completely open to learning and using other methodologies;
  • You are fluent in English, both written and spoken;
  • You have relevant work experience in an institution for addiction and/or behavioural problems;
  • You are experienced in leading groups;
  • Completed a training focused on "coaching and counselling" is an advantage.

About Yes We Can Youth Clinics

When all else fails, Yes We Can Youth Clinics provides a solution for many teens and young adults, aged 13 to 25, struggling with mental health issues, addictions and behavioural problems. Our approach has proven to be very successful: about 70% of the fellows no longer need specialised care after having completed 10 weeks of residential treatment and a minimum of 4 weeks aftercare. Our success rate is so high because we not only work together with our fellows, but also with their parents. Successful treatment requires a serious effort from both of them. The collaborative approach at Yes We Can Youth Clinics has proven to be a turning point in the lives of thousands of teens and young adults.
