The Sinterklaas spirit could be felt across Yes We Can Youth Clinics last week, as the Good Saint and his Pieten came to visit. From a morning full of joy and wonder, with bags of treats and gifts for the children of our colleagues, to filled shoes for our fellows and fun activities. Enjoy a look back at a week full of Sinterklaas cheer at Yes We Can.
This year, Sinterklaas and his Pieten did not only think of our fellows and residents – the children of our colleagues were not forgotten either. The C-room of our clinic looked wonderfully festive: decorations everywhere, beautiful Sinterklaas and Piet colouring sheets, and of course plenty of happy faces getting their faces painted. It was a morning full of joy and wonder, with bags of treats and presents. The Pieten added cheerful dances, making the celebration complete. But what truly made this day unforgettable was the warmth of our Yes We Can family. Coming together, the children’s excitement, and the proud smiles of the parents once again showed how special our team is, both inside and outside of work.
Instead of the usual Christmas stockings, our fellows woke up to a wonderful surprise: a shoe filled with a gift from Sinterklaas and his Pieten. A Dutch tradition that simply couldn’t be missed for our international fellows. What followed was a day full of festive activities and a surprise visit from the Good Saint himself. To show that new and beautiful memories can be created in a life of recovery, we at Yes We Can Youth Clinics do everything we can to give our fellows a special December month. This afternoon already felt like a gift in itself, with radiant faces and genuine connection all around. It became an unforgettable Sinterklaas celebration, one we hope will be remembered for a long time.
Everything for our fellows, each and every day.
